Marius Gerber joined WCIS Attorneys in 2017 in the Intellectual Property department.
Marius attended the University of Pretoria and obtained a BCom (cum laude) and an LLB (cum laude). He completed his two years as a candidate attorney in general practice, and thereafter continued to practice general law in Pretoria.
In 1999 Marius specialised in Intellectual Property law and subsequently spent several years as a partner at one of the leading corporate and commercial law firms in South Africa, and later at one of the largest specialist Intellectual Property law firms in South Africa.
Marius specialises in trade mark, copyright and related commercial intellectual property matters, including licensing and franchising, and has advised and acted for many multi-national clients in these areas.
Marius has also presented lectures on copyright to both undergraduate and postgraduate students at a number of tertiary education institutions.

Management, acquisition and enforcement of trade mark rights, including trade mark availability searches, filing applications for the registration of trade marks, the prosecution of trade mark applications to registration, conducting trade mark portfolio reviews;
Advising on various copyright related matters;
Commercial intellectual property matters including franchise agreements and licensing agreements;
Advising on various domain name and e-commerce law matters.
